Munecune x Sanrio : A Japan-exclusive Collaboration Special
One of the events we personally visited earlier this year was the Munecune Pop-Up, held in Osaka from January 24 to February 16, 2025!
Originally launched in 2011, Munecune is a much-loved illustration group exhibition known for kickstarting the retro 80s boom in Japan. For this special edition, Munecune teamed up with Sanrio Characters under the theme “Maison de Munecune.”
Six Japanese artists each took on one Sanrio character and reimagined them in their own signature art styles –

🟠 My Melody x Eimi Azami
⚪️ Cinnamoroll x Yo-ko
🔴 Hello Kitty x REOspikee
🟡 Little Twin Stars x F*Kaori
🔵 Pochacco x thanat
The result? It sounds impossible, but somehow… each character became even cuter!
